2 more murder cases filed against Hasina

Two more murder cases have been filed against former prime minister Sheikh Hasina with the Dhaka Chief Metropolitan Magistrate court.

In one of the cases, 16 people, including former prime minister Sheikh Hasina, have been charged in connection with the death of madrasa student Jobaid Hossain Imon in shooting from RAB's armored helicopter.

The deceased Imon was a 4-grade student of Darunnazat Islamia Madrasa under Mohammadpur.


Abdullah Abu Saeed Bhuiyan, Imon's uncle, filed the case on Thursday. Dhaka Metropolitan Magistrate Rajesh Chowdhury accepted the statement of the plaintiff and ordered Mohammadpur Police Station to take the case.

The other accused in the case are – former road transport and bridges minister Obaidul Quader, former home minister Asaduzzaman Khan Kamal, former law minister Anisul Haque, former local government and rural development minister Tajul Islam, former textiles and jute minister Jahangir Kabir Nanak, former foreign minister Hasan Mahmud, former state minister for information Md A Arafat, Sheikh Hasina's adviser Salman F Rahman, lawmaker Mustafa Jalal Mohiuddin, former IGP Chowdhury Abdullah Al Mamun, former Director General of RAB Harun-or-Rashid, DMP Commissioner Habibur Rahman, former Additional IGP Dr B Mahid Uddin, Additional Commissioner of Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DB) Harun-or-Rashid, and Joint Commissioner Biplab Kumar Sarkar.

Besides, unidentified members of RAB's helicopter patrol team and their commanding officers have been named as accused as well.

Shahabuddin murder

On the other hand, 11 people including Sheikh Hasina have been accused in the murder case of an auto-rickshaw driver Shahabuddin. The victim's father Abul Kalam filed the case.

In this case, Dhaka Metropolitan Magistrate Farah Diba Sonda ordered the Sher-e-Bangla Nagar police station to accept the statement of the plaintiff and take the case.

The other accused in the case are – former road transport and bridge minister Obaidul Quader, former home minister Asaduzzaman Khan Kamal, former law minister Anisul Haque, former foreign minister Hasan Mahmud, former state minister for information Md A Arafat, Sheikh Hasina's adviser Salman F Rahman, former IGP Chowdhury Abdullah Al Mamun, former additional IGP Haroon-ur-Rashid, former DMP commissioner Habibur Rahman, and joint commissioner Biplab Kumar Sarkar.
