5-day Jor Ijtema begins at Tongi

The five day 'Jor Ijtema', a preparatory event of the Biswa Ijtema, began on the bank of Turag river at Tongi here early Friday. With the general sermon delivered by the Pakistani cleric Nayeem Shah, the formalities of the Jor Ijtema began after the Fazr prayer. The Jor Ijtema, which usually takes place 40 days before the Biswa Ijtema starts, will end on December 3.

Meanwhile, the followers of Tablighi-Jammat and religious scholars from different parts of the country have started to arrive at the Ijtema place. The followers of Maulana Jobair participated in the first phase of the Jor Ijtema. Then, the followers of Maulana Saad will participate in the second phase from December 20 to 24.

Tabligh Jamaat Bangladesh Shurai Nejam (Media Coordinator) Habibullah Raihan said the 5-day Jor Ijtema has started. Today, Pakistani brother Naeem Shah Saheb delivered a sermon after Fajr and before Jumma. At this time, Farooq Saheb (Bangalore) spoke. He also said that after Jumma, Maulana Rabiul Haque Saheb delivered sermon after Asr and Maulana Omar Farooq Saheb delivered a sermon after Magrib.

The first phase of the Biswa Ijtema which will be attended by the followers of Maulana Jobair, will begin from January 31 and it will end on February 2. The second phase of the Biswa Ijtema attended by the followers of Maulana Saad Ahmed will begin from February 7 and it will conclude on February 9 with Akheri Munajat.a
