61st Foundation Anniversary of Nat’l Org for Visually Impaired observed

On the occasion of the 61st founding anniversary of the National Society for the Visually Impaired, on Friday, the head office of the National Society for the Visually Impaired . Foundation anniversary celebration and discussion meeting was held at Orphanage Road Bakshibazar. National Society for Visually Impaired was established in 1964 as a social service non-political organization.
Secretary General of the Central Committee of the National Visually Impaired Organization Ayub Ali Hawladar presided over the event, the president of the central committee of the organization Nurul Alam Siddique. The ceremony started with the recitation of the Holy Quran. Later, prayers were sought for the souls of all the students, workers and other people who were martyred in the anti-discrimination student movement from last July till now and condolence was expressed to the families of the martyrs.
During the welcome speech, the Secretary General of the organization Md Ayub Ali Hawladar presented several demands to the advisory council including the honorable chief advisor of the interim government. The speakers demand to provide free permanent shelter to the head office of the organization at 6, Orphanage Road, Bakshibazar, increase in disability allowance, arrange employment of disabled persons on the basis of merit, freeing the helpless, poor, deprived of facilities from the hand of begging, their sons and daughters, brothers and sisters to provide employment on the basis of merit. On the occasion of the establishment anniversary of the organization, cake cutting, discussion meeting and luncheon were organized with the members of the executive council of the organization along with the helpless, poor, underprivileged visually impaired people. Md Moklechur Rahman Senior Vice Chairman, Madhav Chandra Sarkar Vice Chairman, SM Yunusur Rahman Joint Secretary General, Md Monirul Islam Assistant Secretary General, Abu Alem Matbar, Safia Begum Women Affairs Secretary and general members of the organization were also present in the event.
