Anti-discrimination Students raise fund for flood victims
The leaders and activists of the anti-discrimination student movement along with the general students of Dhaka University (DU) have arranged a massive activity for collecting funds to support the flood victims across the country.
From this morning, people of all strata of life were seen to come and provide their donation at the booth set up in front of the Student-Teacher Center (TSC) of the university.
Besides, people from different places are rushing to the TSC to give various items of relief, including white rice, bottled water, beverages, bread, biscuit and flattened rice (chira) along with bringing daily essentials.
The country's people have been requested to participate in the humanitarian activities as the fund collecting will also continue tomorrow, said organisers.
A number of teams from Anti-discrimination Student Movement already on their way to different districts, including Feni, Cumilla and Nohakhali, to rescue the flood victims, said Rokib Rana Masud, a DU student and volunteer, adding, "After the end of the collection today we will go to different areas of flood victims this night".
Apart from this, the students of the different halls of the university were also seen collecting funds from Wednesday night from students of halls and outside of the halls.
Moreover, the students were seen individually collecting funds to help the flood victims in the campus area. Students are running similar programs in departments and social media as well.
