Autocracy may raise ugly head again: Fakhrul
Describing former Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina as a pure thug and fascist, BNP Secretary General Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir on Wednesday said that the country is still in danger as fascism may raise its ugly head again.
Claiming that the country is still in danger, he called upon his party’s rank and file to form a steel-solid unity to resist the evil force and to form a pro-people government.
While addressing a public meeting held on a madrasa premises in Zafarpara area in Pirganj, he said the Hasina-led fascist government took the lives of hundreds of people and met a dire consequence as a remedy.
Now they are trying to create a volatile situation in the country by dishing out rumors of attacking the people of the Hindu community, said the BNP leader.
Earlier in the day, Fakhrul offered Fateha at the grave of Shaheed Abu Sayeed, praying for the eternal peace of the departed soul.
He, later, met the victim’s family members and extended his heartfelt sympathy to them.
