Coach Maruful hopes his boys will fight back against India
Bangladesh U-20 national football team head coach Maruful Haque said he is confident of the capability of his boys and hopes that they would bounce back against India forgetting the last group match defeat against host Nepal.
"Before arriving in Nepal we told that we have come in Nepal to become SAFF Champions, but we failed to become group champions losing the last match against Nepal.... I hope the boys will overcome the incident and they will bounce back against India to go to the final," said Maruful through a video message during the team's practice session today (Saturday).
Bangladesh will take on India in the second semifinal scheduled to be held on Monday (Aug 26) at ANFA Complex in Nepal.
The boys in red and green, after full day break, joined team's training session under the supervision of coach Maruful Haque.
The coach said India is always a tough opponent but boys also prepared to take the challenge with a fighting mentality. They would be able to bring out the result and go the final match.
Forward Moinul Islam Moin said they are upbeat to give their best against India.
He said they have already rectified their mistakes in the last match against Nepal and hoped that those mistakes would not be repeated again against India.
The forward said it's good that we have got three days gap before the semifinal match, so we'll take preparation very well so that we don't lose the match against India," he added.
Earlier, on way to the semifinal, Bangladesh finished group A runners-up while India emerged group B champions.
