Dhaka-Kathmandu Ties: A Collaborative Approach to Climate Issues
Nepalese Ambassador to Bangladesh Ghanshyam Bhandari today paid a courtesy call on Environment, Forest and Climate Change Adviser Syeda Rizwana Hasan. The meeting took place at the Bangladesh Secretariat in Dhaka.
They discussed the issues of mutual cooperation, especially environmental protection, climate change actions and energy cooperation. Rizwana Hasan underscored the need for taking joint efforts in combating the adverse affects of climate change as both Bangladesh and Nepal are highly vulnerable to climate change.
She expressed Bangladesh’s readiness to work closely with Nepal on various environmental initiatives, including reforestation, water conservation, and eco-friendly development projects. Ambassador Bhandari emphasized on Nepal's commitment to regional collaboration for addressing climate challenges and highlighted the importance of sharing knowledge and best practices between the two countries.
He also invited the environment adviser to visit Nepal. Both parties agreed to enhance bilateral relations through environmental diplomacy and explore future collaborative projects aimed at promoting sustainable development and resilience in the region. The meeting concluded on a positive note, with both sides reaffirming their commitment to strengthening ties between Bangladesh and Nepal in addressing shared environmental challenges.
