Dissolve parliament, form interim govt immediately: BNP
The BNP on Tuesday urged President Mohammed Shahabuddin to dissolve the House without any delay and form an interim government.
Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir, secretary general of the party, made the call at a press conference following a Standing Committee meeting presided over by the party’s acting chairman, Tarique Rahman.
President Shahabuddin, in his address to the nation from Bangabhaban on Monday, said the current parliament would be dissolved as soon as possible according to the constitution.
At the press conference, Fakhrul also called upon the people to refrain from vandalism and arson violence and urged the party leaders and activists to build resistance against the unruly mob.
