Education Adviser calls for end to forced teacher resignations
Wahiduddin Mahmud, education and planning adviser in the interim government, has called for an immediate halt to forced resignations and harassment of teachers across Bangladesh.
The adviser made the call during a meeting with Ministry of Education officials at the Secretariat on Tuesday.
The adviser condemned these practices as unacceptable and stressed the urgent need for their cessation.
The adviser’s remarks highlight concerns over forced resignations and various forms of harassment towards teachers at educational institutions nationwide.
Wahiduddin said any allegations of corruption or misconduct involving teachers and officials will be investigated by the relevant authorities.
He said he has directed educational institutions to enforce disciplinary codes and strictly act against violators.
The adviser emphasized the crucial role of students in fostering a respectful and conducive learning environment, urging all stakeholders to collaborate to maintain the integrity of educational institutions, which would benefit students and the broader community.
