As part of the preparation, the FSCD has set up divisional monitoring cell at Khulna and cancelled leave all of its officials at the fire stations concerned in the coastal belts, said a FSCD press release today.

The fire service officials have been asked to remain alert to tackle any situation, it said.  Additionally, the FSCD has been continuing massive campaigns since today morning in the disaster-prone areas of Khulna and Barishal divisions to make people aware and alert about the cyclone.

The FSCD release said they held preparatory meetings with the local administrations alongside maintaining close contacts with them. Volunteers under the Cyclone Preparedness Programme (CPP), Search and Rescue Team, Water Rescue Team and a team of physicians have been kept ready in the disaster-prone areas to face any emergency situation.

Apart from these, the FSCD has kept ready the required fire distinguishing equipment, ambulance, rotary rescues, airlifting bags, and first aid boxes to make the preparation foolproof. The FSCD officials have been entrusted with the task of conducting post cyclone searches and rescue operations alongside making the roads fit for plying vehicles.

The FSCD release also said the people of the disaster-prone areas can take their emergency services round the clock as its central control room and the respective divisional control rooms have always been working to collect information regarding the cyclone.
