Gold prices in country again hit record high

The price of gold has been increased again in the country’s market. The price of the best quality or 22-carat gold (11.664 grams) has been increased by Tk 2,613 and fixed at Tk 135,664. The new prices will be effective from Wednesday (September 25). On Tuesday (September 24), the Standing Committee on Pricing and Price Monitoring Committee meeting of the Bangladesh Jewelers Association (BAJUS) decided to increase the price again.

The BAJUS notification states that the price of the best quality or 22-carat gold has been increased by Tk 2,613 per bhori and stood at Tk 135,664. The price of 21-carat gold has been increased by Tk 2,507 per bhori and fixed at Tk 129,505. Apart from this, the price of 18-carat gold has been increased by Tk 2,135 to Tk 110,995. The price of one bhori of traditional gold has been increased by Tk 1,820 to Tk 91,38. 

Prior to this, the price of gold was hiked two more times on September 22 and September 15. On September 22, the price of good quality gold was increased by Tk 3,149 and stood at Tk 133,051 per bhori, the highest price in the market so far. Now the new price has broken the record due to increasing the price.
