HC wants list of S Alam Group's immovable properties
The High Court (HC) today asked the authorities concerned to submit list of all immovable properties owned by S Alam Group, its shareholder directors and their family members, to the court. A High Court division bench of Justice Md Kamrul Hossain Mollah and Justice Kazi Zinat Hoque passed the order, asking Law Secretary and Inspector General of Directorate of Registration to file the list. The court passed the order after holding hearing on a writ petition.
The court also issued a rule, asking the authorities concerned to explain as to why it shall not pass order to take necessary steps to bring back properties of S Alam group from abroad. Supreme Court lawyer Md Rukunuzzaman filed the writ on September 17 and moved the plea before the court himself today. Advocate Shahin Ahmed took part in the hearing for the Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) and deputy attorney general Tanim Khan stood for the state.
