Involvement in drugs; Tisha-Toya say they don’t know anything

The names of some of the country’s renowned actresses have been linked to drugs. They are Tanjin Tisha, Safa Kabir, Mumtaheena Toya and singer Sunidhi Nayak. The Department of Narcotics Control (DNC) (Narcotics) is conducting a special investigation into the drug involvement of these four stars. A report has already been sent to the higher levels of the Ministry of Home Affairs in this regard.

Earlier, sources told the media that the names of Safa, Toya, Tisha and Sunidhi came out through the interrogation of a university student who was arrested with drugs. There is information and evidence and were regularly collect drugs through a special WhatsApp group. The admin of that WhatsApp group, Arindam Roy Deep, a former student of North South University, has already been arrested.

Now actresses Tanjin Tisha and Mumtaheena Toya opened up about the matter. Tanjin Tisha told Daily Bangladesh, “These are all lies. They write down whatever they say! I am confident that these are lies.” Mumtaheena Toya, on the other hand, told the media that she doesn’t know about anything. In her words, “What can I say, I don’t know about this! And I can’t say anything about any pending matter. I have one request to everyone, please don’t put me on a media trial! Allah is the best Judge, pray for me.”

Prior to this, investigators said that at one stage of the verbal confession about the drug trade, Deep’s mobile phone call list and WhatsApp chats were verified. This revealed information about the drug involvement of some renowned actresses. Even some specific WhatsApp chat records related to drug orders placed on their behalf were found.

In this context, the investigating officer of the case, DNC assistant director told the media, “After Deep’s arrest, we have received evidence from him of the involvement of some top actresses and models in drugs. The investigation is still ongoing in this regard. Legal action will be taken against those involved after the investigation is completed.”

An official said that evidence of regular drug orders was found from some numbers saved in Deep’s WhatsApp group in the names of Safa, Toya, Tisha and Sunidhi Nayak. Later, the registration records of the phone numbers were collected to verify the numbers. It was seen that the concerned numbers were registered in the names of Safa Kabir and Toya. However, Tanjin Tisha’s number is registered in the name of her mother Umme Salma.
