Jamaat-Shibir banned, gazette issued
An executive order has been issued today banning Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami and its student body Bangladesh Islami Chhatra Shibir.
The Ministry of Home Affairs issued a gazette notification on Thursday (August 1) afternoon after the Ministry of Law gave a nod in this regard. It was signed by Jahangir Alam, Secretary of the Public Safety Division of the Ministry of Home Affairs.
The Government banned Jamaat-e-Islami, its student wing Islami Chhatra Shibir and all its front organizations under the Anti-Terrorism Act 2009.
