Japan to continue supporting Bangladesh
Japanese Ambassador to Bangladesh IWAMA Kiminori today assured Bangladesh of continuing support to complete the ongoing development projects with its funding and also continuing support for future cooperation.
The Ambassador made the assurance when he met Adviser to the interim government on the Ministries of Planning and Education Dr Wahiduddin Mahmud held at the latter's office at the Ministry of Planning.
The Japanese Ambassador said he had already talked with Chief Adviser Professor Dr Muhammad Yunus and Finance Adviser Dr Salehuddin Ahmed and assured them that they would continue support to complete the ongoing development projects with Japanese funding and thus those would be handed over to Bangladesh after completion within stipulated timeframe.
Extending thanks to Japan for its continued support, the Planning Adviser said that Japan has always been a true and time tested friend of Bangladesh and its largest development partner.
Dr Wahiduddin Mahmud also urged Japan to continue its support in technical education.
In response, the Japanese Ambassador assured the Adviser of continuing support in the fields of technical education and continuing providing stipends to Bangladeshi students for pursuing education in Japan.
