July Revolution won’t be allowed in vain: Dr Khalid
Religious Affairs Adviser Dr A F M Khalid Hossain today said the July revolution will not be allowed to fail as huge sacrifices are involved in this. “Around one thousand people embraced martyrdom in the July Revolution. Many are living a miserable life after being critically wounded. Besides, many have become crippled.
This revolution cannot be allowed to fail," he said. The adviser said these while speaking as the chief guest at the 'Reunion Hashemian-2024' programme at Hashemia Kamil Madrasah ground in Cox's Bazar, a press release said. Alumni Association of Hashemia Kamil Madrasah organized the programme, the release added.
Referring to the plight of those injured in the July Revolution, the adviser said, "If we think that our movement-revolution is over, then, we are in the wrong. We still have a lot of work to do. If necessary, we will have to take to the street again."
After the interim government assumed office, one after another subversive activities have been carried out, he said, adding that various attempts are being made to obstruct the government's pace of development. "But the government is moving forward by facing all challenges," he said. He urged all to be vocal for the welfare of the country and the nation.
He requested everyone to forget all differences and unite for the welfare of the Muslim Ummah of the world. Noting that about 200 crore Muslims are living across the globe, he said if Muslims, the Organisation of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) and the Arab League are strengthened and made effective, the whole world will be able to embark upon a new path of firm unity.
Maulana Nazrul Islam, convener of 'Reunion Hashemian-2024', presided over the event. Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami Assistant Secretary General Maulana Muhammad Shahjahan, Deputy Commissioner Mohammad Salahuddin and Superintendent of Police Muhammad Rahmat Ullah also spoke, among others, on the occasion.
