Late squadron leader Md Saiful Monir buried with state honors
Squadron Leader Md. Saiful Monir died last Friday (04-10-2024) at 11:55 pm while undergoing treatment at Dhaka Combined Military Hospital (Innalillahe wa Inna Ilaihe Rajiun). He was 33 years old at the time of his death. He is survived by his wife, two daughters and numerous well-wishers. Squadron Leader Md. Saiful Monir was born on 30 November 1990 in Angarpara village of Barguna district in a noble Muslim family.
He joined the Bangladesh Air Force on 01 January 2008 and was commissioned in the GD (P) wing on 01 December 2009 with the highest award for cadets, the "Sword of Honour". He was diagnosed with brain tumor in 2018.
During his illness, he was sent to Singapore in 2018, 2022 and later to India in 2023 for advanced treatment with the initiative and funding of the Bangladesh Air Force. After receiving the commission till his death his service was 14 years and 10 months. During his service before his illness, he was engaged in important positions in various bases and units of the Air Force.
Last Saturday (05-10-2024) funeral of the deceased was held in Angarpara village of Barguna district. Squadron Leader Md Saiful Monir's family members, senior Air Force officers and other dignitaries were present on the occasion. After the funeral, Squadron Leader Md Saiful Monir was buried with state honors at the family graveyard in Barguna.
