Mass upsurge comes to eliminate fascist system: Asif Mahmud
Adviser of the interim government for the Ministries of Labour and Employment and Youth and Sports Asif Mahmud Sajeeb Bhuiyan said the mass upsurge has come for eliminating the long-lasting fascist system.
"After necessary reformation, the interim government will hand over power to an elected government," he said while talking to the journalists after inaugurating the newly established National Occupational Health and Safety Research and Training Institute (NOHSTRI) here today.
The adviser said massive rumors are being spread relating to the formation of political parties. "We have no intention of forming a political party," he asserted. Replying to another question, he said a complaint cell had been constituted relating to the labour unrest. Labourers are submitting their complaints there and a solution will come soon.
Besides, he said meetings are being arranged with different political parties so that misconception doesn't arise. Teams led by coordinators are hearing public views in different parts of the country, he added. "We will take disciplinary action against those who will be found guilty of extortion in the name of coordinators," he opined.
Earlier, Asif Mahmud opened the NOHSTRI. International labour standards, research, training, risk assessment, higher education and rehabilitation activities will be performed through this institute. Secretary to the Labour and Employment Ministry AHM Shafiquzzaman, Chairman of Bangladesh Sena Kolyan Sangstha Major General Muhammad Habibullah and Commissioner of Rajshahi division Dr Dewan Muhammad Humayun Kabir, among others, were present.
