New VC joining Open University today

New VC of Bangladesh Open University (BOU) Professor Dr. ABM Obaidul Islam will join the workplace today (September 15) around 11 o'clock. Earlier, on Thursday (September 12), the Department of Secondary and Higher Education of the Ministry of Education issued a notification appointing this professor of the Physics Department of Dhaka University (DU) for a period of four years. It was mentioned in the notification that President and Chancellor Sahabuddin appointed him.
The terms of appointment in the notification state that the term of appointment as Vice-Chancellor will be four years from the date of joining. However, if applicable, he will return to the original post on completion of regular service and complete the remainder of the term after completing the formalities.
On the post of Vice-Chancellor he will get salary equivalent to his current post. He will enjoy other benefits related to the post as per rules. The Vice-Chancellor will remain in the University campus full-time as the Chief Executive Officer of the University.
The President can cancel this appointment order at any time if necessary.
