Officials of information, telecom ministries to donate one-day salary for flood victims
Officials and staff of the ministries of Information and Broadcasting and Posts, Telecommunications and Information Technology have decided to donate money equivalent to their one-day salary to the Chief Adviser's Relief and Welfare Fund for the flood-affected people.
The officials and employees of the offices and agencies affiliated to these two ministries will also donate similarly from their respective salaries, said a press release here today.
"During separate discussions with officials of the ministries of Information and Broadcasting and Posts, Telecommunications and Information Technology regarding the flood situation, the officials spontaneously expressed their willingness to donate their one day's salary to the Chief Advisor's Relief and Welfare Fund," Adviser for these two ministries Md Nahid Islam was quoted in the release as saying after the discussions.
In light of the officials' desire, the ministries have decided to donate money equivalent to one-day salary of officials and employees of the ministries, and offices as well as agencies affiliated to these ministries, he said.
