One held with narcotics in Brahmanpara

The police arrested a young man along with 300 bottles of Scaff and 50 bottles of Phensedyl syrup from Ramchandrapur area bordering Shashidal Union in Brahmanpara Upazila of the district early Thursday.
The arrested Rakibul Islam Rakib, 22, is the son of Abu Taher of Ramchandrapur Village in the upazila.
According to police sources, on the instructions of Brahmanpara Police Station Officer-in-Charge (OC) SM Atiq Ullah, a police team led by Sub-Inspector (SI) Shahabur Alam conducted the operation at the residence of Rakibul Islam Rakib and arrested him along with the narcotics.
A case under the Narcotics Control Act has been filed against the arrested. Besides, there are three cases against him filed with the police station. The concerned court sent him to jail, the OC said.
