Postponed HSC exams start Sep 11, new routine published

The new routine for the HSC and equivalent examinations, which were postponed due to the situation arising out during the quota reform movement in government jobs, has been published. As per the published schedule, the exam will start from September 11.

This was informed in the notice signed by Professor Md. Abul Bashar, convener of the Inter-Education Board Examination Control Committee, on Thursday (August 15).

About this, Professor Tapan Kumar Sarkar, head of the Inter-Education Board Coordination Committee, told the media that a proposal to start the postponed HSC and equivalent examinations from September 11 has been sent to the Chief Adviser from the Ministry of Education. The final decision will be taken considering the situation.

Earlier, HSC and equivalent examinations were suspended due to the violence surrounding the Quota Reform Movement. Even though the exams were scheduled to start on August 11, it was not possible.

In a notification signed by Deputy Secretary AZ Morshed Ali on August 6, the Ministry of Education suspended all HSC and equivalent examinations due to “unavoidable reasons”. A new proposal has now been made to the Interim Government.

The 2024 Higher Secondary Certificate (HSC) and equivalent exams begin on June 30. The written exam was scheduled to end on August 11. Besides, the practical exams were scheduled to be completed between August 12 and August 21.
