The general holiday on August 15 is being canceled on the occasion of National Day of Mourning, informed sources at the Ministry of Public Administration on Tuesday (August 13).

According to ministry sources, the general holiday on August 15 “may be canceled”. Notification has also been prepared for this purpose. Notification in this regard will be issued as soon as instructions are received.


Earlier on Monday, Various political parties including BNP gave suggestions in the meeting with Chief Adviser to the Interim Government Dr. Muhammad Yunus. For this, the public holiday is likely to be canceled on this day.


When asked about the views of the parties on August 15, except for BJP Chairman Andaleeve Rahman Partho, the rest of the parties suggested scrapping the National Day of Mourning and public holidays.
