Salman, Anisul put on fresh 5-day remand
A Dhaka court today (Aug 29) placed Salman F Rahman, private industry affairs adviser to former prime minister Sheikh Hasina, and Anisul Huq, former law minister on five-day fresh remands in a murder case.
The case was filed over the death of Suman Sikdar, 31, in Dhaka's Badda during quota protests on July 19.
Dhaka Metropolitan Magistrate Mohammad Nurul Huda Chowdhury passed the order in the case around 7:00am after police had produced the duo before the court with a 10-day fresh remand prayer.
On August 20, victim's mother Masuma filed the case with Badda Police Station against former prime minister Sheikh Hasina and 179 others.
On Aug 13, Salman F Rahman, and Anisul Huq were arrested at the capital's Sadarghat in the Sadarghat area while they were trying to flee through the waterway.
