Shafiqul Islam best technical teacher in Shariatpur

Shafiqul Islam Sohel, Damudya (Shariatpur)

Shafiqul Islam Sohel, trade instructor of Kaneshwar Shyama Charan Edward Institution, was selected as the best teacher (technical) of Shariatpur District in Bangabandhu Creative Talent Search Competition and National Education Week 2024.

The award was presented in a ceremony organized by the District Administration and District Education Office in the conference room of the Deputy Commissioner's office on Wednesday morning where the Deputy Commissioner Muhammad Nizam Uddin Ahmed was present as the chief guest while District Education Officer Shyamal Chandra Sharma was in the chair. In the programme, various educational institutions, teachers and students of Shariatpur received awards of excellence across upazilas in different parts.

Shafiqul Islam Sohel is the son of Md Torab Ali Sardar of Dwigshul Village in Shidhalkura Union of Damudya Upazila in the district. Shafiqul Islam started his career as a trade instructor at Alhaj Imam Uddin Model High School of Shariatpur in 2010. He has been working in Kaneshwar Shyama Charan Edward Institution since 2020. He was elected the best class teacher at the upazila level and the best class teacher at the district level during the National Education Week in 2023. He is serving as the president of Damudya Upazila Press Club.

He was selected as the best technical teacher in the district considering various categories including experience, education quality improvement, efficient management, education-friendly, and innovative excellence. He is also serving as the general secretary of Ask Foundation in Damudya, an international human rights organization.
