Threats to kill family members and plaintiff to withdraw case

A press conference was held to protest the death threats received by the family members of the two deceased brothers, including the plaintiff Md Murad Sheikh, after the two brothers, Miran Sheikh (37) and Ziarul Sheikh (32), of Charmallikpur village of Mallikpur union in Lohagara upazila under the district of Narail, were released on bail.
At a press conference held at 11:30 am on Friday at the house of the two deceased brothers in Charmallikpur village of the upazila, Md. Mozadder Sheikh read out a written statement on behalf of the plaintiff. Family members and relatives of the deceased were present at the time.
At the press conference, Mojadder Sheikh alleged that on the morning of September 11 this year, a group of 35/40 people led by opponent Mahmud Alam Khan, armed with country-made weapons such as ramda, saraki, ballam, and lathis, attacked and hacked to death Miran Sheikh (37) and Ziarul Sheikh (32), two sons of the deceased Samad Sheikh of Char Mallikpur village.
Murad Sheikh, the elder brother of Miran and Ziarul, who were killed in the murder, filed a murder case with Lohagara Police Station on September 14, mentioning the names of 35 people and the names of unknown accused. Case No. 09, Date-14/09/2024.
After filing the case, the police arrested Mintu Sheikh (50), Pintu Sheikh (45) and Shariful Sheikh (42), the sons of the deceased Alim Sheikh, from Dhaka and Gazipur areas and sent them to jail. After that, the accused in the case tried to get anticipatory bail from the High Court but failed. Later, the 29 accused named in the case appeared in the lower court of Narail on November 16. The court granted bail to 8 of the 29 accused, namely Jhantu Sheikh, Sohel Mridha, Tanvir Mridha, Masum Sheikh, Buli Sheikh, Adar Mallick, Sajahan Mallick, and Faruk Mridha, on November 25. The 8 accused mentioned above returned to the area after being released on bail and threatened the plaintiff in the sensational double murder case, Md. Murad Sheikh, and his family members, to withdraw the case on the night of November 26. They threatened that if the case is not withdrawn, you will end up like the two brothers. Then the accused, who were released on bail, threatened to kill Shakil Sheikh, the son of the plaintiff's elder brother Iran Sheikh, by abusing him in obscene language on his mobile phone for withdrawing the case. Due to this, the plaintiff and other family members are spending their days in extreme insecurity.
From the organized press conference, it was strongly demanded that exemplary punishment be given to those involved in the murder of the two brothers and that the bail of the 8 accused who were released on bail be cancelled and the grifter be re-arrested. Among others present at the press conference were Md. Mofizur Rahman Kaka Mia, Pikul Sheikh, Iran Sheikh, Santu Sheikh, Yadul Sheikh and others.
