Users across country unable to use mobile internet
Users are facing problems in using mobile data services in Dhaka and surrounding areas for more than 24 hours. As a result, they are unable to use social media apps like Facebook and Messenger properly.
Among the areas affected by mobile internet services are Dhanmondi, Nilkhet, Palashi, Science Lab, Green Road, Jatrabari and university-centric areas across the country.
“I usually check mail or stream music while going to the office. But today I could not use the internet,” said private sector worker Taj Islam.
He said there was “no internet connection even though 3G was showing” in the network bar. “I restarted the phone to see if there was a hardware problem, but there was no internet connection from Mohammadpur to Moghbazar,” Taj Islam added.
Users in the capital Dhaka and surrounding areas such as Narayanganj, Tongi and Gazipur have faced massive problems since early morning today (July 18) due to mobile data disruption.
Despite having enough data – Grameenphone, Banglalink, Robi, Airtel and Teletalk users have complained that they are not able to use the internet through mobile data.
However, most broadband services have not yet been disrupted. Broadband disruptions were only reported in isolated places.
