We have to start anew standing on the ruins: CJ
The newly appointed Chief Justice (CJ) Syed Refaat Ahmed has hinted at the new beginning standing on the destruction.
“We are standing on the ruins. We have to start anew while standing on this destruction,” he said while speaking on Monday (August 12) during a reception given by the Attorney General's Office and the Supreme Court Bar in the Appellate Division.
At the beginning of his speech, Syed Refaat Ahmed commemorated the martyrs killed in the uprising, congratulating students and the public across the country. He also congratulated those who supported this movement.
He further said: “The students have sparked a great awakening against inequality. Due to the revolution of the students and the public, I have been entrusted with this responsibility, which I will carry out.”
The chief justice also warned that no form of irregularity would be tolerated.
